Originally from the West Coast of BC, I spent my childhood growing up in the forest.

I knew at 5yrs old that I wanted to be a professional artist. My mother was a beautiful artist, she and my father encouraged me to pursue art throughout my childhood.

Sketching was my main medium throughout high school. I took a couple after school art classes but am mainly self taught.

After moving from the bustle of life in the greater Vancouver area, I started painting in acrylic after settling in the Boundary. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful scenery and environment that I live in, I paint the wildlife that lives there as an accessory to the scene.

I sent an inquiry to Robert Bateman asking for a critique. He called one morning and went over my paintings. He was complimentary on my skills and ability, even saying that I paint like he does. He was shocked to learn that I had been painting for  only two years, with no formal training other than my drawing classes.

I am now a member of the Artists For Conservation. A worldwide organization that Bateman is also a member.  I am also a member of The Federation of Canadian Artists

I have always felt that a painting should be a subject of something not easily seen in life. A scene that may only exist in one’s imagination. It should give the viewer a feeling in their mind and in their heart. The feeling to surrender your senses to the wildness. In a painting.
