Kathleen Ainscough
Mixed Media Artist

Kathleen creates mixed media paintings and three-dimensional pieces that draw inspiration from memory and the flow of time. Her artworks juxtapose architectural structures, weathered surfaces, and nature altered by the elements.
Early studies at Emily Carr University and Capilano University led Kathleen to work in props and costuming for a variety of dance, TV and film productions. Fine arts, textile arts, and ceramics are her mediums of choice. She actively creates, exhibits and teaches in these areas, a natural progression for her many years of art practice. These experiences inspire a deeper connection to her creative process.
She has recently relocated to Naramata from Bowen Island, BC and joined the Aurora Matheson Fine Arts Gallery. For several years, she was a co-owner of Catching Stars Cooperative Gallery on Bowen Island, where her artwork is showcased. Kathleen is also engaged in the arts community on the Vancouver lower mainland and for over a decade has been working with the Bowen Island community arts organization, The Hearth - Arts on Bowen.
